Welcome to DISCOVER for current UA students!
Have you been told that you might want to consider to taking one of those "career assessments" or tests? You may have completed a career and interest assessment in high school, only to find the results a little confusing. High school aged students are very often still "figuring things out"...exploring who they are in the world...learning, expanding their horizons. All of which makes high school student interests, values and skills an ever-changing, moving target.
Now you are in college and you are more informed about the world. You generally have a more clear idea about what you like and what you do not...at least more so than when you were in high school. Now a career assessment has a better chance to help you to learn more about your interests, skills and values related to majors and careers. We subscribe to one of the best available: DISCOVER.
DISCOVER is an easy-to-use career planning and occupational information program that can assist you in making career decisions. This program can help you whether you are exploring academic majors or learning about occupations. You might want to begin with the inventories to assess your interests, values and abilities.
If you complete the three (3) basic inventories, you will have have begun a personal profile that identifies potential majors and occupations related to your stated interests, values and abilities. Look at the Inventory Summaries page to see lists of Suggested Occupations and Majors.
