How We Contact You

There are three primary methods of electronic communication utilized by Career Services. Each are governed principally by our Privacy Policy and Use Agreements.

Registered Users of the Career Services Website

Individuals who make use of the login functionality of the Career Services Website are considered to be registered users with Career Services. Registration allows access to various protected portions of our site, such as DISCOVER and Wildcat JobLink, and results in a creation of a User Profile. This Profile contains various settings, including an option to receive email from Career Services.

If this option is set to "Yes" Career Services makes the assumption that the individual would like to receive timely email regarding various activities related to our core mission. Such emails may include notifications regarding upcoming Career Services events, workshops or other pertinent information that we feel would be informative for our registered users. Setting this option to "No" will prevent these emails from being sent.

To change your profile settings:

  1. Log into the Career Services website.
  2. Once authenticated by the system, click on the menu link My Account to open your profile.
  3. Look for the section Contact Options; click on the Change link to update your preferences accordingly.

It is important to note that the Career Services profile information has no impact on users who also make use of Wildcat JobLink and/or Campus Interviewing. Additionally, Official Career Services email sent to the University population as a whole are not affected by this setting.

Participants in Campus Interviewing

Students at the University of Arizona have the option of participating in Campus Interviewing through Career Services. This program facilitates connecting with employers who may offer qualifying candidates internships, full time positions or other career opportunities. The system that is integral to this process -- Wildcat JobLink -- makes extensive use of email in order to notify students when various opportunities for Campus Interviewing appropriate to that specific individual become available. Such notices may include but are not limited to:

  • Information Sessions with Employers
  • Preselect Interview Eligibility
  • Scheduled Interview dates and times

Registrants with the Campus Interview program are assumed, by definition, to consent to such email.

Use of Official Student Email Addresses

During a limited number of times throughout the academic year, Career Services makes use of the Official Student Email Address in order to notify the general student population of important events, opportunities or activities related to our core mission. In addition to our Privacy Policy, the following University of Arizona policies govern how we may use the Official Student Email Address:

Messages sent to the general student population are first approved by the Office of the Registrar; additionally, they will be identified to the student as being an Official Email from Career Services.
