| | Associate Director MA, Counseling, University of Colorado
BFA, Theatre Production, University of Arizona schloss@arizona.edu Career Services Liaison for the College of Fine Arts & Public Health Being the Associate Director of Career Services which is something of a cosmic joke considering Lizzie was totally undecided in college, taking six and a half years to graduate changing her major five times. After that somewhat inauspicious start to her career, she worked in theatre and film (never making an actual living) for five years before going back to graduate school to study counseling, thereby proving the old adage, "those who can't do teach and those who are totally indecisive, become career counselors." She has settled into this career very nicely, thank you very much, thoroughly enjoying working with students, particularly those struggling with making decisions (Undoubtedly, something to do with her humble beginnings and her natural flow of empathy). |
| | Manager, Information Technology BS Business Administration, University of Southern Maine jansmann@email.arizona.edu Chris is a transplant from the East coast who happily traded in sweaters and gloves for shorts and sandals. He spent close to a decade in the private sector coding/managing databases, websites and anything else that had a plug before joining the UA in 2000. Career Services has been his home since 2004. |
| | Marketing & Special Events Manager slmiller@email.arizona.edu Susan comes to UA via a career in events management that sent her scurrying from Orlando to Hawaii to Germany and back again. Organizing large conventions here and overseas and complicated board of directors meetings gave her ample experience for bringing students and employers together at UA career fairs. |
| | Senior Office Specialist karens1@email.arizona.edu Karen is another transplant, this time from the Midwest. Born in Minnesota and raised in Michigan, she has claimed warm, sunny Tucson as her home. No longer will she need to bundle up just to get the mail and she loves being able to go barefoot more often than not.
Not one for the spotlight, Karen has always been more in the background of things. She enjoys making sure things run smoothly and is part of the Tech Support Team for Career Services. Her background includes working in large corporations, non-profits and for a private advertising company. She has been with the University for 3 years and has “found my home away from home.” As an avid baker, she also keeps her office mates fully supplied with goodies and treats when the creative mood hits her. |
