Resume Referrals are initialized when employers contact Student Engagement & Caree Development to request resumes of qualified candidates. If you have created a profile in Handshake and uploaded a Default Resume, you are automatically represented in the referral should you meet the qualifications requested by the employer. Employers screen the resumes and contact candidates directly.
Make sure you have set your most current (and generic) resume as your Default Resume in Handshake. This resume is the one that will be sent to employers should they express interest in you. We highly recommend that you log into Handshake at least twice a year to update your resume. Accounts that have been inactive more than six months will not be referred to recruiters.
