Display Job Listings On Your Departmental Web page

What Is The Service?

Career Services  is pleased to provide campus departments with the ability to display current student employment job postings on their departmental web pages!  If you hire students for on-campus positions, this service will allow you to post positions within Wildcat JobLink and have them appear simultaneously in your own web space -- effectively doubling your exposure.

How It Works - Three Options

  1. For departments with limited access to web development resources, Career Services can host a customized website page "skinned" to match the departmental HTML web template.
  2. If your website supports the technique, Career Services can optionally provide RSS feeds of current student employment openings.  RSS (or Really Simple Syndication)  feeds can then be integrated into standard HTML web pages using a few lines of Javascript or your preferred scripting language.  The RSS feed service currently only provides a listing of active (non-expired) student employment positions by department.
  3. In situations where departments wish to have more control over the display of their job listing information, Career Services can provide access to  XML web services which may be programmed against in real time.  Available web services include: active job listings by department, expired positions by department, and specific details of particular job postings.

Getting Started

  1. If your department is interested in using the service, please contact Career Services using the Technical Support link .  Kindly provide your name and contact information, as well as your department name and PSOS department code.  Also let us know if you currently have active positions in Wildcat JobLink and whether you will want to use the basic RSS feed or the more advanced web services.
  2. For customized, skinned website, after we obtain the appropriate web template from the department, we will provide a unique URL for inclusion on the departmental websites' navigational structure.
  3. For the RSS Feed, we will provide you with a specialized, unique URL that will contain your current student positions.  While we won't be able to assist you in changing your web site, we can provide you with some helpful links in inserting RSS into HTML pages:
  4. The web services option requires some additional configuration.  If this option is selected, our technical staff will contact you with additional details and your specific configuration for connecting to Career Services.
