The knowledge gained of classroom processes, subject instruction, child development, and language immersion teaching, combined with Spanish and English language fluency required and honed by the major in Elementary Education in the Bilingual concentration, provides a strong career foundation. Graduates may work as first through eighth grade teachers, administrators, trainers, or curriculum designers, and will be well equipped to teach English to Spanish-speaking students as well as to teach Spanish to English-speaking students. This major is also excellent preparation for graduate studies in education, early childhood development, Spanish, English, and public health.
