Annalise Gardella is originally from Reno, NV where she attended the University of Nevada, Reno receiving a BA in International Affairs and Spanish. She served as a Youth Development Volunteer in El Salvador from 2015-2016, during which she organized a women/children health-focused group, taught English and Art classes to youth, facilitated events focused on addressing issues of violence in the area, and aided local leaders in developing a youth literacy program. Annalise is currently a Paul D. Coverdell Fellow and a Latin American Studies MA student at the University of Arizona. Her research interests include power, violence, and gender dynamics in Central America.
