Student Engagement & Career Development and employment professionals are involved in an important process: helping students choose and attain personally rewarding careers and helping employers develop college relations programs that contribute to effective candidate selections for their organizations.
The impact of this process upon individuals and organizations requires practitioners' commitment to principles for professional conduct. The principles presented here are designed to provide practitioners with three basic precepts:
- Maintain open and free selection of employment opportunities in an atmosphere conducive to objectivity
- Maintain a fair and equitable recruitment process
- Support informed and responsible decision-making by candidates
Adherence to the guidelines will support the collaborative effort of career planning, placement and recruitment of professionals while reducing the potential for abuses.
The guidelines apply to new technology or third-party recruiting relationships, which may be substituted for the traditional personal interaction among Career Services professionals, employer professionals and students. These principles are not inclusive. They are intended to serve as a foundation upon which professionalism can be promoted.

Third-Party Recruiting/Pyramiding/Multi-Level Marketing
Third-party recruiters will be extended services if a) they are recruiting for employment within their own organization or b) if they are representing a specified client. Third-party recruiters are required to identify the client/organization they are representing and state specifically the jobs and/or internships for which they are recruiting in the job posting or event registration. Resumes obtained during campus recruiting cannot be shared with other third party recruiters or other clients.
University of Arizona Handshake Posting Policy
Handshake is the central resource for recruiting talented and diverse University of Arizona students and alumni from multiple disciplines. Students looking for skill building employment experiences, quality internships, full time career positions requiring a bachelor’s degree or above utilize this site as well as experienced alumni looking to advance their careers. In addition, qualified employers can use Handshake to engage in a full array of programs including career fairs, mixers, targeted recruiting events/services, student profile search, and campus interviewing.
Campus Interviewing - Recruit on Campus!
Student Engagement & Career Development has multiple interview rooms that can accommodate employers visiting on campus. Requesting an interview happens through Handshake. Rooms are reserved on a first come, first serve basis. When requesting an interview schedule, please let us know what type of schedule you will be setting up (Preselect, Room Only, Open), the time you will be arriving for interviews and the type of interviews you will be conducting, ex: panel interviews, one-on-one, etc. There is a fee of $35.00, which includes 1 room and 1 parking. Additional parking can be reserved upon request for an additional fee.

Are you a Campus Department (Faculty & Staff)?

OCI Payment and Cancellations
If you are registered for OCI, we require payment prior to your participation in our services. If you are unable to attend or need to change your request, please notify us as soon as possible so we can make the proper accommodations. If you wish to pay by card, please login to your Handshake account and pay from there. If you wish to pay by check, please make it out to Student Engagement & Career Development and address it to 1303 E. University Blvd. Suit 411 Tucson, AZ 85721.
